Exclusively Above the Clouds: Private Jet as an Affordable Luxury
The dream of the private jet: reserved only for the richest? Maybe not: flexjet enables affordable partial ownership of private jets.

The view out of the window is almost surprising: the mountain world over which the plane is soaring seems close enough to touch. As far as the eye can see, the peaks of the Dolomites rise out of the clouds. Meanwhile, you sip the sparkling champagne, nibble on the handmade macarons prepared by the attentive stewardess at the beginning of the flight. If you have ever looked for the feeling of pure luxury: it's to be found here.

That's in the private jet of premium jet provider Flexjet, a Gulfstream G650. The luxury operator established what it calls fractional jet ownership in 1995, in which people can buy a shared right to use its premium fleet for a fraction of the purchase price. The model has proved successful: due to high demand, the jet provider was able to double its European fleet in 2022.

The principle behind Flexjet is as simple as it is brilliant: instead of buying your own jet, you invest a fraction of the money via a share purchase starting at a minimum of 50 flight hours per year. This way you are a part owner, but you benefit from numerous advantages. For example, the massive upfront capital requirements, the organization of a pilot as well as a crew and parking space are eliminated. Only direct costs per flight - such as maintenance, catering, engine operation and pilot fees - remain to be paid.

In Europe, the premium jet operator offers flights with the Embraer Legacy 500, the Praetor 600 and, since 2022, the Gulfstream G650. The latter was only introduced in 2022 and impresses with luxurious equipment, plenty of personal space and excellent service. Passengers are assisted by a personal stewardess or steward who reads all their wishes from their eyes.

This includes an oat cappuccino with a light, airy topping as well as fine sushi or breakfast yogurt with gilded cranberries. Then you lean back in the big, cream-colored chair and let the luxury wash over you. Or you simply enjoy the unique view from the large, oval windows.
Rise sustainably
One topic that inevitably comes up when talking about private jets: sustainability. And rightfully so. To reduce the CO2 emissions of its fleet, every flight of the premium jet provider automatically includes a CO2 offset. Independently verified credits are used to support innovative clean energy projects worldwide. .
