A piece of Melbourne history at the Hyatt
If you look closely, you will discover subtle allusions to Melbourne's history time and again inside. For example, artifacts that were unearthed during the construction of the hotel. Or the gold and brass sculptures by Suzie Stanford, which commemorate the Australian gold rush. In this way, the Hyatt Centric itself becomes a treasure trove.

Bar: Storyville
A themed bar - can that work? In the two-story Storyville, owners Steve Thomas and Keti Kezunovic prove that fairy tales and fantasy can be quite extravagant. The bar was designed by stage designers - so anyone sipping their Willy Wonka cocktail here has the feeling of sitting in a fantasy film between huge mushroom roofs, meter-high fairy tale books and colorful exotic flowers. Different, stylish - a must-see.

Activities & Attractions around Melbourne
Surfing & Penguins on Phillipp Island
Into the Wild: Phillip Island is just a two-hour drive away. The small peninsula is famous for its biodiversity. Dwarf penguins, koalas and seals can be seen sunbathing here for hours. Surfers are drawn to the popular surf spot Woolamai Beach.
The Twelve Apostles
If you have a little more time, you can rent a car and drive along the Great Ocean Road on the coast of Victoria. After about four hours you reach the legendary 12 Apostles: twelve striking limestone pillars up to 60 meters high between Princetown and Port Campbell. Like small islands in the sea, they stand off the coast. They belong to the most famous sights of the whole continent.
Gem and gold hunting in fossicking parks
In Australia, gold hunters still try their luck today. Numerous parks allow so-called fossicking and prospecting - newcomers can take their first try in numerous parks around Melbourne, such as Warrandyte State Park. But before that, you should get a Miner's Right Permit, which only costs $ 25.55 in Victoria.
Hot Springs & Murray's Lookout
Want to relax? The hot springs of the Mornington Peninsula are only about an hour's drive from Hyatt Centric. A stone's throw away, Murray's Lookout offers breathtaking panoramic views of Melbourne's bay. Bring a jacket, it gets windy here!
