The iconic Atlantis The Palm is a resort in a class of its own. Not only in terms of its dimensions and location but also in terms of variety and leisure activities. It's home to the well-known and popular water theme park Aquaventure. Anyone looking to cool off in Dubai is spoiled for choice here on an area of 17 hectares. From record-breaking slides that provide thrills to the ultimate adrenaline rush on the third highest water slide in the world to calmer waters, everything is included. Both adults and children will experience unforgettable moments here - and welcome cooling off. Guests of Emirates traveling via Vienna can look forward to a special offer. Until September 12, 2024, your ticket from Vienna to Dubai and back also includes free entry to the world's largest water park.

Dubai in summer is inextricably linked with water. This is also the case at AquaFun Waterpark in Jumeirah Beach. It's the largest inflatable water park in the world. Visitors can let off steam in a huge area. There's some disagreement about how big it really is. According to Guinness World Records, it covers 42,400 square meters. A total of 130 exciting attractions promise to cool you down on hot days.

Top infinity pools

The city of records has a lot more up its sleeve in this respect. The longest sky infinity pool in the United Arab Emirates is also located here. More precisely: in One Za'abeel, the architectural masterpiece in the immediate vicinity of The Frame. It's an impressive 120 meters long and offers a unique swimming experience against a special backdrop. The Aura Skypool in The Palm Tower has even more to offer: if you want to cool off from Dubai in summer, you can do so in the highest infinity pool in the world. It's 210 meters high and offers views of the city skyline and Palm Jumeirah. Tip: For more peace and quiet (and even more spectacular photos), come after 7 pm. Then access is only permitted for adults over 21.

There are indeed places in Dubai in summer where it can get freezing cold. And you need gloves, a parka and closed shoes. Fortunately, you can get this adjustment at the entrance to the Chillout Ice Lounge in Times Square Center. Just 15 minutes from Jumeirah Beach, you can chill out in a lounge whose entire interior is made of ice. Instead of pictures and other decorations, there are impressive ice sculptures. At -6 degrees, you can enjoy drinks, snacks and hot meals while energy-intensive air conditioning units work at full speed to prevent the magic from melting away in the hot desert sun.

Museum visits and shopping

From the Museum of the Future to the Dubai Museum, the Illusion City Dubai, the Al Shindagha Museum and the Museum of Illusions - there's also plenty to experience culturally in the emirate. The best thing is that all buildings, without exception, are air-conditioned. So if you want to get out of the sun, this is the place to be. Another alternative is the 100 or so shopping malls that are located in the city. Here, too, the only time you'll break into a sweat is when the credit card bill arrives.
