Dubai For Foodies: 4 Unique Top Restaurants

Higher, bigger, more luxurious - Dubai is known for spectacular buildings, the best weather, and gigantic sights. In addition to that, the city on the Persian Gulf has more and more unique culinary delights to offer.

February 17, 2023

Since mid-2022, it's official: Dubai's restaurants are first class. At the end of June, the Michelin Guide awarded 66 establishments in the city - nine of them received one star, and two were even awarded two stars. Grégoire Berger was named Chef of the Year; the Frenchman excels at the underwater restaurant "Ossiano" at "Atlantis The Palm." The "Lowe" restaurant was the only establishment in the city to receive a green Michelin star, which honors restaurants with special sustainability standards.

The only Indian restaurant with Michelin star in the Emirates
The minimalist and upscale Indian star restaurant has only a few tables, all of which offer an unobstructed view of the open kitchen. The 16-course menu is divided into newly interpreted specialties from four regions of India. The dishes are bold and stimulating in the best sense of the word. The accompanying drinks are, for the most part, homemade. A unique gourmet experience that you won't forget!

Hotspot for foodies who love sustainable cuisine
Lowe's is currently the talk of the town's food scene. It is located in the KOA Canvas, a bit away from the center, a new complex with luxury residences. The kitchen is run by Australian-born Kate Christou, together with Jesse Blake. The restaurant received a green Michelin star in the summer of 2022, the only restaurant in the city to achieve this. The reduced ambience made of wood goes hand in hand with the sustainability concept.

The hot spot in the heart of Dubai offers upscale Japanese cuisine
Informal and high-quality Japanese cuisine is offered by Zuma, which now has 21 locations around the world. The first restaurant was opened by German chef Rainer Becker in London in 2002, and the Dubai branch was launched in 2009. Connoisseurs of Japanese cuisine are about to make a special discovery: The restaurant's creations are authentic and yet, not traditional. The "Daikoku" menu is recommended, an extensive selection chosen by the chef and served to the entire table. Trust the experienced hands of the staff.

Progressive gourmet cuisine with underwater ambience
The menu that is served by Grégoire Berger, Chef of the Year, at the underwater restaurant "Ossiano" is inspired by his homeland, Bretagne. It is a surprisingly personal, playful sequence of dishes, and yet also sprinkled with serious elements - that is how he incorporates themes such as sustainability, and the pollution of the world's oceans into his menu. The Frenchman's progressive creations are presented like sculptural art, demanding the guests' undivided attention. Here, you are literally immersed in the depths of the ocean and its flavors.
