These 5 destinations are perfect for the America revival

For more than a year and a half, tourists from Europe have had to be patient. In November, the time has come and a trip to the United States is possible again.

1 October 2021

The United States of America has so much to offer - all the better that fully vaccinated people will finally be able to travel the US again from November 2021. The tough travel restrictions have been in place for 1.5 years, but they're set to be eased next month. For this reason, we present five multi-faceted destinations, in the land of endless possibilities, suitable for both sun worshippers and winter fans.

City, Beach, Culinary and Active Vacation in St. Pete, Clearwater

After the long absence from the USA, you are spoilt for choice. Beach holiday, city trip, culinary trip or active holiday? How about all of the above! St. Pete/Clearwater on the Florida Gulf Coast is the perfect place to combine all your wishes. While you can enjoy the sun on St. Pete Beach, there are countless museums waiting to be visited downtown. Besides over 90 colourful murals and established museums such as the James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art or the Dalí Museum, there have also been various new arrivals in recent months. Those who need a change from the exuberant cultural offerings will find peace and quiet in nature. Nature lovers get their money's worth in St. Pete in Caladesi Island State Park in the north of the region or in Fort de Soto on a glass kayak tour. The region also offers culinary delights with varied and local cuisine.

Winter in Arizona

In the winter months, you can also experience the complete opposite of the otherwise very summery temperatures in Arizona. That's when parts of the Grand Canyon State turn into a white winter paradise. Especially in the winter season from December to March, you will hardly find a better place for snow experiences. Already in the immediate vicinity of the city of Flagstaff, skiers and snowboarders are in perfect hands. Just a 30-minute drive from historic downtown Flagstaff is the Arizona Snowbowl Resort, with its unparalleled views of the Grand Canyon. Also in northern Arizona, the White Mountains, experienced winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to the Black Diamond runs of the Cyclone Circle, for example.

Culinary delights under a never ending sun

Not only snow lovers are in good hands in Arizona in winter, also tourists who prefer warmer temperatures are in the right place here. Especially in Tucson: Arizona's second-largest city was named the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy in the U.S. in 2015 as part of the Creative City Network. Livestock farms, vineyards and orchards have a long tradition here. Tucson's distinctive cuisine features numerous farmers markets and food festivals with delicious samples of the region's specialties. If you're a total sun worshipper, you'll love it here, as Tucson is one of the sunniest cities in the world, averaging 3,806 hours of sunshine per year, making it sixth in the world.

Idyllic winter magic on Long Island

Christmas shopping in New York is finally possible again. As a change from the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle of the big city, it offers Long Island, the island just outside the metropolis. A hotspot for American high society, it's an ideal getaway to escape the Christmas rush. There you can spend a quiet day in the beautiful nature. In addition to numerous arboretums, idyllic parks and long beaches, the opulent mansions that stretch along the so-called "Gold Coast" are also worth seeing. Small Christmas markets in the cozy towns of the Hamptons also invite you to visit. In December, the Montauk Point Lighthouse, aglow with Christmas lights, is a must-see. The oldest lighthouse in New York is world famous.

Pure relaxation in Scottsdale

Scottsdale in Arizona is internationally known as one of the leading luxury travel destinations in the United States. In and around Scottsdale you will find various luxury resorts, which entice with exclusive accommodations, restaurants and golf courses. For nearly 100 years, Scottsdale has been part of the Golf Hall of Fame with 50 golf courses. 200 more golf courses are located in the Valley of the Sun in the surrounding area. You'll also find countless top-notch spas where you can enjoy extensive soothing treatments - deep relaxation guaranteed! Many of the resorts have beautifully appointed spas, some of which offer stunning views of the surrounding area, such as the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort. Due to its location in the Sonora Desert, Scottsdale is also an excellent destination for nature lovers. The Sonora Desert impresses with a picturesque landscape consisting of red glowing mountains, the famous saguaro cacti, rivers and partly colorful blooming wildflowers.
