Classical music doesn't have to sound antiquated. That's why the LanAntiqua association celebrates the sounds of the 17th and 18th centuries in impressive venues such as the late Gothic parish church of Maria Himmelfahrt in Niederlana. The acoustics are impressive. Top-class concerts are on the program until the end of the year, including northern sounds from the Ars Nova Copenhagen under the direction of Sofi Jeannin. Or, in December, you'll get to listen to Christmas sounds from the women's vocal ensemble Luminosa.

Encounter in the bunker

It is a landmark that cannot be overlooked in Val Venosta/Vinschgau. Bunker 23 in Tartsch/Tarces looks like a UFO that has landed in South Tyrol. As part of the Alpine Wall, it was actually intended to secure the border and serve as a retreat for soldiers. Today, the bunker is one of the most unusual meeting places in the region. Exciting exhibitions are held there regularly.

Countdown to Mass Extinction?

Climate change from a historical perspective: Until November, the extensive exhibition "Countdown to Mass Extinction?" offers fascinating insights into the largest mass extinction in history to date, when gigantic volcanic eruptions in Siberia led to a climate catastrophe around 252 million years ago. The exhibition shows many fossils and draws fascinating parallels to today's climate crisis, which is melting the glaciers in South Tyrol. The two MusLa museums are well worth a visit to immerse yourself in the history of Ladin art, culture and nature.

Festival Transart

September 12 - September 29, 2024

Tiberio Sorvillo

Transart has made a name for itself as an interdisciplinary avant-garde festival in the Trentino region for more than 20 years. Starting in Bolzano, unusual performance venues are discovered and stars from Marina Abramović to Laurie Anderson have already been guests. Singer Peaches and extreme performer Florentina Holzinger have also been among the guests. The aim of the festival is to bring art to northern Italy in a completely new context; performances take place in barracks, industrial halls and mountain huts. In terms of content, the focus is on experiments - you'll get to see productions that leave narrow genre boundaries behind with relish.
