Buckingham Palace

Queen Elizabeth worked here, her father, King George, once came and went here, and the new King Charles will also regularly enter his office in the rooms of Buckingham Palace. The building, with its 775 rooms in the City of Westminster, is not only the official residence of the royals, it also serves as a location for special occasions, such as state visits or receptions.
Parts of Buckingham Palace can be visited during the summer months. A special highlight is the famous changing of the guards. It takes place several times a day and can be observed without admission from the Victoria Memorial.

The history of the British royal family also includes Kensington Palace. It has been the residence of the young generation of royals for about 300 years. Just outside London, in the British county of Berkshire, you can find Windsor Castle with its large garden, St George's Chapel and the State Apartments. Queen Elizabeth loved to spend her weekends here before she was buried in the royal crypt at Windsor Castle as part of the state funeral in 2022.
