Indulgence has always played an important role at Das Traunsee. With top chef Lukas Nagl on board, the boathouse has developed into a true culinary hotspot over the last 12 years. His dishes are characterized by a focus on the obvious with an open view of the wider world. The familiar surprises with a completely new taste experience; he interprets the unfamiliar in his own unique way with regional ingredients. You won't find a menu here. Guests are served a daily changing menu with his personal signature.

Owner Monika Gröller lives out her flair for all things beautiful in the hotel, the restaurant, the neighboring Hotel Post am See and the fine Greisslerei from. Her husband Wolfgang is host, landlord and tour guide all in one - and usually at the same time. No sooner has he been in the restaurant than you see him back at the lake, where he brings guests closer to his homeland on the Plätte - a traditional wooden boat. The 1,000-year-old monastery, the famous Fischerkanzl of the parish church or the Calvary - it's well worth exploring the area. Autumn in the Salzkammergut belongs to recreational sports enthusiasts. Erlakogel, Schönberg, Rinnerkogel and Gasselkogel are just a few of the attractive mountains that inspire hikers with fantastic views. No matter which section of the Traun or Salzkammergut cycle path you choose, there are beautiful tours for every taste and fitness level.

When the snow covers the small, picturesque village of Traunkirchen and the lake sleeps silvery, the long nights promise relaxing days. At Das Traunsee, you can experience this without the hustle and bustle, noise or après-ski, but with relaxing moments in the new See Spa and direct access to the sparkling cold lake as a plunge pool. The Feuerkogel - easily accessible in just five minutes by car or with the winter shuttle - is a small, fine ski area that invites families as well as demanding ski tourers and tobogganists. Pure winter in the Salzkammergut also means tradition and craftsmanship. From the Traunsee Castles Advent about the Glöcklerlauf on January 5 until the Kripperlroas - a visit to the famous Ebensee nativity scenes.
