The importance of Milan as a trendsetter in fashion and design cannot be overstated: The northern Italian hub's influence reaches far beyond Europe and affects everything from streetwear to living rooms. During springtime, the city more than lives up to its reputation: Its world-famous Fashion Week in late February is followed in mid-April by the Milan Design Week, where international trade fairs like Fuorisalone (April 15-21) or the Salone del Mobile.Milano (April 16-21) present the future of interior design. The latter promises to be a truly superlative event: Over 1,900 exhibitors makes it the largest furniture fair in the world, with an enormous program of round tables, talks and special events – including an installation by cult director David Lynch.
