A proper afternoon tea experience is part of every London city trip. The mixture of sweet deserts, savory sandwiches, and exquisite teas are convincing in good or bad weather and offer the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends and loved ones. In the heart of Kensington, a special afternoon tea experience awaits at Carlton Tower Jumeirah.
In the luxury hotel, the patissière Jessica Prealpato is responsible for the sweet creations. The Frenchwoman uses no sugar and only the freshest ingredients, with the sweetness coming from the fruits used in the cakes and tartlets. Her concept is called Desseralité - a mixture of Dessert and Naturalité. She uses it to bring the natural flavors of each ingredient to the forefront, without gimmicks or flavor enhancers. From eclaires to classic scones to tartes, the creations are subtly sweet and incredibly delicious. Experts confirm this, with Prealpato being named World's Best Pastry Chef in 2019 and Pastry Chef of the Year by Gault & Millau in 2020.
