The Canary Islands & the Wild Atlantic
Spain's islands are not limited to the Balearic Islands alone. Instead of being located in the east of Spain, in the clear waters of the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands lie to the west towards Africa in the rough Atlantic Ocean. Spectacular volcanic landscapes, black beaches and incomparable vegetation attract active individual vacationers in search of unique places year after year.

Gran Canaria's landscape offers both massive rock formations and desolate landscapes, beaches as well as mountains, flourishing flora thanks to a year-round spring climate and an even more colorful nightlife. Here, nature meets culture, providing a wide range of activities where there's something for everyone.

Only 120 kilometers from the African coast, awaits the second largest island of the Canary Islands: Fuerteventura. It's of volcanic origin as well, although the fire-breathing giants have not been active for several thousand years. However, if you walk across the black and gray beaches of the island, you'll see and feel their unique origin. In addition to the black beaches, extensive white sandy beaches await you. Due to the sometimes rough currents in the Atlantic Ocean and the light wind, the island is a paradise for all water sports enthusiasts. A small special feature of the island: since 2015, Fuerteventura may call itself UNESCO light protection area. Because the Spanish island is characterized by an incomparably spectacular starry sky at night.
Ideal for?
- Water sports enthusiasts, especially surfers of all kinds
- Nature enthusiasts, looking for a relaxed sporty and young environment
