A Weekend in ... Venice!

Venice, the enchanting lagoon city on the Adriatic, beckons with romantic gondola rides, modern art and excellent restaurants. These are the top tips for a short trip to La Serenissima.

19 June 2022

Canals, bridges, gondola rides: no matter how many times you've seen it, Venice, the unique city on the water, never fails to charm visitors. Some even think it gets more beautiful every time, because the better you know the city and the further you get away from the centre, the better you get to know the authentic side of the lagoon city. In any case, it is definitely worth crossing the Rialto Bridge and exploring San Polo and other districts in addition to San Marco.

As the setting for the world famous Biennale di Venezia , Venice is a true centre of art and culture. In addition to numerous museums steeped in history, such as the Gallerie dell'Accademia or the Palazzo Ducale, the city offers a multitude of modern galleries that make the hearts of art lovers beat faster. Venice is also always good for a surprise when it comes to design: from luxurious fashion to stylish furniture and home accessories - especially made of the world-famous Murano glass - there is something for every taste.

Venice seamlessly blends tradition and modernity. The annual carnival is iconic, as is the Biennale (r.), a contemporary art exhibition that takes place every two years and regularly attracts over half a million visitors. Why is Venice worth a trip?

Because only here you can find this opulent Gothic architecture, these winding streets and romantic gondola rides through the canals.
