5 Reasons to Travel to Aruba
The small Caribbean island not only impresses with its crystal-clear water and endless beaches. That's why Aruba should be on your Caribbean bucket list.

Sun, beach and sea - that's what the Caribbean is known for. For many travelers, it's the epitome of paradise. Away from the well-known islands, the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao) are a real insider tip. Thanks to the warmth of the locals, Aruba has earned itself the slogan One Happy Island. These five reasons speak for a trip.
Fantastic beaches
All the beaches on the island are open to the public, from the popular Baby Beach in the east of the island to Mangel Halto and Eagle Beach - which was voted the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean. Guests and locals alike can lie in the sun anywhere and enjoy the sound of the sea. Hip bars provide refreshment in between.

Untouched nature
Nature enthusiasts will find a true Eldorado in Arikok National Park. The park covers around 20 percent of the island's surface area and offers a retreat for wild animals. Early in the morning, when the temperatures are not yet too hot, the numerous hiking trails entice visitors to go on a tour. During the day, you can explore the park with rangers and cool off in the natural pool or explore the two natural caves where bats nest.

Wildlife
Aruba is home to four species of sea turtle. Local conservationists ensure that the turtles' nests are not disturbed. So far in 2023, more nests have been counted than in the whole of 2022. If you snorkel along the coast early in the morning, you'll often find the gentle sea creatures peacefully foraging for food. Other wild inhabitants include the famous flamingos that live on the private island of the Renaissance Hotel.

Art
San Nicholas is one of the island's up-and-coming districts. The Aruba Art Fair has been held here every year since 2016. International street artists visit the island and immortalize themselves with some extraordinary works of art. If you stroll through the streets on foot, you'll find cute cafés, hip restaurants and instagrammable spots. Galleries exhibit works of art and accessories by local artists.

No storms
While the south of the USA and other islands in the region are regularly hit by storms and severe weather, Aruba lies outside the hurricane belt. The island is therefore a popular travel destination all year round. Away from the main season - from May to October - Aruba is not overcrowded, which is why a trip during this period is highly recommended.
Arrival
With KLM, traveling from Europe is easy and uncomplicated. Flights take off from Vienna, Munich, Berlin and other major airports with a layover in Amsterdam. From there, KLM flies directly to Oranjestaad in around ten hours.
