Born in Germany, he originally started his professional career in the financial sector - today he is a successful entrepreneur on many other levels. Far beyond the city limits of his adopted hometown of Vienna, for example, his colorful Bali Brunch at Oio Poké. So he brought a bit of island magic to the Austrian capital.
If you had to describe Bali in three words - what would they be?
When I think of Bali, so many words, moments and experiences come to mind. Incense sticks lit every morning and "offerings" in banana leaves. The culture and laughter of the locals. Of course, the delicious and creative food.
Why Bali?
What I love about Bali is the feeling of freedom that comes over you as soon as you set foot on the island. Bali is also affectionately called "Mama Bali". I think if you are open, you experience so many new things there, learn a lot about yourself and get to know incredibly exciting people.
If you come to Bali, you absolutely must ...
... touristy as it is, but you can certainly work off the typical sights in the first week. Then it's time to participate more in the local life. There are so many ceremonies celebrated in Bali and to experience that once with a local family is priceless. I also think that everyone should be open to get completely involved in the culture and see a Balinese healer.
And a hotel tip from the Bali Insider?
I would recommend renting a nice AirBnB accommodation. The price/quality ratio is very attractive.
Which souvenir must be in the travel bag?
Many memories and an open heart.
In which bar or café do people meet you in Bali?
This changes every time I'm back there, because so many new, cool spots open within a short period of time. But spots I like super much are mainly in my favorite area, Canggu: BGS Coffee, Revolver, Localita, Mason, Yema Kitchen, Sayuri, Mocca ...
A store where you could leave all your money?
Actually, not a material store. I probably leave the most money in restaurants or when I have jewelry handmade.

Speaking of restaurants, where do you go for dinner? What does Bali taste like?
It mostly depends on my mood and the people I spend time with. in Bali you can find any cuisine and you can find everything from Lebanese to Mexican to local Nasi Goreng. Bali tastes like variety, turmeric, lots of tempeh and coconut in all forms.
What do you always have in your luggage?
A reusable water bottle, sunglasses, headphones and hair ties - cause Bali is hooooot!
And what else is on your bucket list?
Traveling to different countries was and still is one of my biggest priorities in life - simply because new cultures and impressions greatly enrich one's life. My way in and through gastronomy is supported by quite a few trips, which helps me to gather inspiration for my next ideas. For now, my next fixed destination is definitely Tel Aviv.
