The core-renovated villa, the former Higher Administrative Court, finds its counterpart in a minimalist new building in the north. To the south, the former janitor's house stands at its side. In the back, the trio is bracketed by a forest-like park and gains a new identity as an ensemble. The distribution of roles is clear: the villa welcomes guests as a grande dame with a stylish entrance. The new building takes a back seat, but shows its changeable face! Wrapped in a screen of anodized aluminum folding shutters, its structure begins to live with the needs of the guests. They control electrically from the rooms the play between transparency and being protected. CBAG.studio from Saarlouis was responsible for this sensitive and innovative implementation. The two BDA architects Christina Beaumont and Achim Gergen worked for 5 years as a design team with Zaha Hadid in London and Rem Koolhaas in Rotterdam before founding their office in Saarlouis.
