For generations, the 4-star house in Upper Vinschgau has been in the hands of the Theiner family. A very special place, maintained with much love, care and dedication. Sometimes you would like to believe that time has stood still in Burgeis. It is quiet here. Idyllic, some would say. You won't find any hustle and bustle in the alleys of this South Tyrolean village. People like it cozy here. Nevertheless, the people of Burgeis were not born yesterday. On the contrary. They appreciate what has been and like innovations. This is especially true for the Theiner family. It all started with the village store back in 1871. Over time, the Weisse Kreuz developed into what it is today. With foresight, courage and entrepreneurial spirit, the Theiners have made a name for themselves far and wide. Nevertheless, they never allowed themselves to be infected by the gigantomy of alpine tourism strongholds. Because if you can offer your guests something authentic, you don't need staging. Three houses, one vision The Weisse Kreuz consists of three independent buildings, connected by the small village square. The whitewashed main building gave the present hotel its name. Just a few steps away, another gateway to the past opens up. The Ansitz zum Löwen is a place where the architecturally inclined heart skips a beat. Here, modern exposed concrete nestles against 800-year-old walls. Accurately placed glass surfaces enter into a unique symbiosis with fine Renaissance carvings. Together with the South Tyrolean architect duo Marx/Ladurner, the Theiner family has gently awakened the Ansitz from its slumber. Today, the Ansitz zum Löwen has been awarded renowned architectural prizes. And since all good things come in threes, the modern new building also inspires. Clear lines, restrained design and an open construction invite you to let your gaze wander. The lightness of being Good food keeps body and soul together, as they say here in Vinschgau. And rightly so, we think. Because a meal is an expression of joie de vivre, a symbol of the good life. A wonderful opportunity to spend carefree hours with your loved ones in a beautiful ambience. Our chef Marc Bernhart is an exceptional young talent at the stove. With a great sense for real taste, a good portion of joy in experimenting and a soft spot for excellent ingredients, the Burgeiser inspires with his culinary creations: From modernly interpreted classics of alpine cuisine, Mediterranean delicacies to international delicacies.
