Sandals Resort introduces the redesigned Sandals Royal Bahamian
The renovated resort will reopen with luxurious new accommodations, locally inspired experiences and expanded dining, among other features.
9 November 2021
After a multi-million dollar makeover, Sandals Resorts International unveils plans for its completely redesigned all-inclusive resort in Nassau, Bahamas: the new Sandals Royal Bahamian. With the goal of bringing the carefree Bahamian lifestyle with locally inspired experiences and a thoughtful, modern approach to luxury, Sandals, a leader in Couples-Only, will reopen its award-winning hotel, spa and accompanying private island for the winter season beginning January 27, 2022.
"We're upping the luxury and building on the carefree Bahamian lifestyle to deliver an incredible and authentic experience that, as we like to say, makes love come easy." Adam Stewart, executive chairman of SRI, said. According to Stewart, plans for the redesigned Sandals Royal Bahamian have been in the works for nearly three years and are part of a much broader strategy for the company. The unique Caribbean destinations where Sandals Resorts operates are to be authentically reflected in the design, product offering and type of luxury service.
The redesign of the Sandals Royal Bahamian includes the following:
Completely new Suites & Island Village
Sandals Royal Bahamian has expanded its lodging offerings with the brand's signature River Suites in the renamed East & West Bays, more than 200 completely renovated rooms and suites and the new expanded Island Village . The new pastel village was inspired by the Bahamas and features butler-style villas, each named after a Bahamian island and each with its own pool.
Coconut Grove
A new addition is the Coconut Grove, a sprawling lounge area that brings Bahamian beach vibes to the center of the resort day and night. Shaded by coconut palms, the new area features chic seating, live music and entertainment, unparalleled ocean views and three new food trucks. Guests can enjoy Sweets n Tings , treat themselves to a sweet delicacy or a coffee, enjoy the Coco Queen with locally inspired Bahamian fusion cuisine and fresh seafood or indulge in Bahama Mamma Mia , opting for an Italian classic - all new at Sandals.
Private Island Hideaway
Secluded beaches and colorful coral reefs await guests on the resort's secluded private island, Sandals Barefoot Cay. Couples can sail to the island retreat and spend the day on the quiet shores. There you will find a beach bar, seating, outdoor shower and the new restaurant Aralia House, which brings fresh seafood straight from the boat to the table and serves authentic Caribbean delicacies.
Early check-ins & traditional evening rituals
For guests arriving early, the Sandals Royal Bahamian offers the new program The Breakaway which allows for early check-in. Upon arrival, a hostess leads guests to the relaxation lounge with a signature cocktail in hand, where they can freshen up and head straight to the pool while the rest is taken care of for guests. At sunset, couples can participate in a traditional ritual of blowing seashells to traditionally welcome love and happiness. The ritual is accompanied by rake-and-scrape music and Bahamian cocktails with a sea breeze.
New restaurants
The Sandals Royal Bahamian will showcase five new restaurants when it opens this winter, including the La Plume with exquisite French cuisine, the traditionally British pub The Queen's Pearl, the Kanoo with Caribbean cuisine, the Butch's Island Chop House with steaks, fish fillets and seafood prepared to order, as well as the Sushi Spot Soy. From the casual beachside grill serving hearty burgers and fresh salads to the tantalizing aroma of exotic spices and perfectly grilled Japanese delicacies, the new Sandals Royal Bahamian offers a total of 13 dining choices.
