Surf paradise also in the winter time
Portugal is famous for some of the best and most exciting surfing locations in the world. Accordingly, the regions on the west coast and Algarve are popular. But experiencing the wind and waves is not limited to summer, even in the winter months surfers can look for the perfect wave on the west coast. Some of the beaches are in close proximity to the resort and Praia do Guincho is only around two kilometres away. Those who don't want to ride the waves themselves can find a cozy spot in one of the restaurants or bars, which welcome you to feast and linger even in winter.

Hiking to the westernmost point of Europe
A relaxing stroll on a sun-drenched winter's day, or overlooking a spectacular sunset - the Costa do Sol is versatile, and in the winter months walkers usually enjoy the fine sandy beaches all to themselves. For longer walking tours, the Sintra-Cascais National Park, where the Victor's Portugal Malveira-Guincho garden complex with its 24 luxury villas is located, is also the ideal spot between October and April. The nature reserve extends over an area of around 145 square kilometres from the mouth of the Falcão River to Cascais in the south, and in the west the park reaches as far as the Atlantic Ocean. Paradisiacal beaches meet wild waves and a fascinating cliff landscape, while the overgrown hills of the Serra de Sintra tower inland.

Immerse yourself in the Christmas atmosphere of Portugal
A trip to Lisbon, which is only around 35 kilometres from Victor's Portugal Malveira-Guincho, promises to immerse guests in many Portuguese traditions in the run-up to Christmas. Portugal's largest Christmas market awaits in the country's capital, but many smaller towns in the area also put visitors in a pre-Christmas mood with their markets and events. A great experience for Lisbon and the region is on the calendar on December 8: one of the largest Christmas trees in Europe will be set up and lit on the Praça do Comércio.

The traditional Christmas cuisine beckons
But on a Christmas trip to Portugal, it's not just the regional seasonal markets and opportunities for Christmas shopping in Lisbon or Cascais that await. For a good insight into Portuguese traditions, the menu before Christmas Eve also provides. Specialties in the west of the Iberian Peninsula include doce de aletria, a dessert made from vermicelli. One of the regional main courses is cod in different variations. The dessert is the "Bolo-Rei", the king cake filled with crystallized fruit or dried fruit, as well as the small baked sugar doughnuts "Sonhos" or the "Rabanadas", also called "Poor Knights".
