Consequences of stress

In itself, stress is a good thing; in terms of evolutionary biology, it has enabled humanity to survive as such. When our ancestors were faced with a sabre-toothed tiger, released stress hormones ensured that the decision to flee could be made and without even thinking about it. Short-term stress situations that quickly subside are still not the problem today. The problem arises when stress persists and the body no longer has the chance to flush harmful stress hormones out of the system. Unfortunately, modern humans have more than enough stress, even without sabre-toothed tigers.

This is precisely where the new stress management module at Original Mayr Medical Resort on Lake Wörthersee comes in. The aim is to become more stress-resistant. Participants should learn how to quickly find inner peace again when life shows its more demanding side. They should then be able to handle stressful situations more confidently. The stress management module also trains resilience. Mayr Med Stress Management is an optional supplementary module that can only be booked in conjunction with the Mayr Med Detox Program or the Mayr Med Diagnostic Program. Holistic concept

Mayr Med Stress Management offers each participant tailor-made tools to not only manage stressful situations effectively, but also to tackle them preventively. The personal therapy plan is based on a detailed medical consultation, during which both symptoms and stress levels are analyzed. The cortisol test is a key component here. For 890 euros per person, the program includes a wide range of services: the cortisol lab test, a medical stress history, an initial psychotherapeutic consultation, a Breathwork group session, a stress release massage and a recharge infusion.

Targeted breathing techniques can reduce stress and help you find inner peace. This is particularly evident in the Breathwork workshop, a central element of the Mayr Med Stress Management module. The so-called parasympathetic breathing journey is a specially developed combination of different breathing techniques aimed at calming the nervous system and reducing deep-seated stress. This process is divided into four phases and is led by Dr. Elka Wrolich, a doctor at the Original Mayr Medical Resort.

Comprehensive program

Diet, exercise, breathing and mindfulness play a key role in general well-being and are important factors in the fight against stress. Various lectures will be offered on these topics as part of the program. The nutrition lecture, for example, will show you how to plan meals sensibly and which foods are particularly helpful in stressful times. Dr. Ursula Muntean-Rock, the resort's head doctor, explains in her lecture how stress affects digestion.
