A very special adults-only hideaway, the Bikini Hotel Es Trenc recently opened on the south coast of Mallorca. Located directly on the natural beach of Es Trenc, it is the creation of hotel visionaries Christoph Hoffmann, Kai Hollmann, Stephan Gerhard and Ardi Goldman – best known as the founders of 25hours Hotels – as well as Christian Zenka. Together with Dreimeta Studio, an singular location for artists was created: This is where the singer-songwriter Clueso has helped create a hotel with a creative hub.

Relaxed & energized

The hotel ensemble consists of three lavishly renovated buildings surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden. Guests can retreat to the quiet lounge areas to enjoy a spectacular view of the Mediterranean. Or they can spend relaxing hours by the outdoor pool.

On the dining terrace of the latest NENI , a popular restaurant chain created by the Viennese chef Haya Molcho, exquisite comfort food awaits. Liquid refreshment is available at the Gin Sul outdoor bar, the first – and so far only – outpost of the Hamburg distillers on Mallorca. When the view finally falls on the breathtaking sunset, the day comes to a perfect end.

A total of 130 rooms are available; the highlights are the two penthouses with panoramic views and spacious terraces. The style is reminiscent of the hippie aesthetic of 1960s San Francisco. Correspondingly, the Boho vibe that prevails here is relaxed and chill. Guests who appreciate individuality, creativity, and a touch of luxury are in the right place at Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel Es Trenc. But where is the connection between Clueso, hotel and creative hub?

Hotel and creative haven

The heart of the Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel Es Trenc is the Poolhouse, which the artist Clueso helped develop with his label Text & Ton. Once an indoor pool, it's now a creative lounge: complete with an event area, an extensive record collection, a co-working space and the beatmaker studio set up by Clueso.

When Clueso, his manager Olaf Meinking and Text & Ton teamed up with Christoph Hoffmann and Christian Zenka of Bikini Island & Mountain Hotels to realize their joint vision of a creative artists' hotel on Mallorca, they sought to revive the era of the great grand hotels, which were also a haven for artists during the Roaring Twenties and the Fin de Siècle.

Equal Partnership

"David Bowie once said that travel is fuel for songs," says Clueso. "Considering that, it's brilliant to bring everything together in this new location: the creative, the beginnings, the finalizing." His album "Handgepäck" was produced in a hotel, as was his latest work, "Album", which he recorded with producer team Decco.

The project was not conceived as a marketing cooperation - on the contrary. It is an organically grown artistic partnership of equals. "We immediately realized that Clueso is a real hotel aficionado," says Christoph Hoffmann, Co-Founder of 25hours and Bikini Hotels.
