Why Monte-Carlo Beach is the place to be

This summer marks the beginning of a new era for the Monte-Carlo Beach, with numerous innovations awaiting discerning guests.

August 12, 2024

Monte-Carlo Beach is a glamorous, Green-Globe-certified icon on Monaco's coast, consisting of an elegant hotel designed by India Mahdavi and a private beach. The Olympic-sized pool and the gourmet restaurant Elsa are further reasons for its status as a favorite of the jet set. With René Blino now serving as director, the institution entered a new era this summer.

Iconic since 1928

The chic, yet timeless, Hotel Monte-Carlo Beach takes guests on a journey back to the glamorous 1930s. Resembling a small palace, it is surrounded by a pine forest in an exceptionally beautiful location. It has always been a meeting place for VIPs and the international jet set. Following a renovation by India Mahdavi, it now shines in its former glory. From the terracotta facades to the frescoes inspired by Matisse and Cocteau to the exceptional service, it impresses discerning travelers on all levels.

40 rooms, suites and villas stand ready to become personal hideaways. René Blio, the new director of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, is a veteran of the luxury hotel industry. He is therefore very familiar with the wishes of discerning travelers and knows how he and his team can make every stay unforgettable. His experience also helps maintain the primacy of the hotel on the Riviera. And also to expand it further. His first step was to change the management of the Elsa restaurant.

Marcel Ravin takes over Elsa

At the helm of the famed Elsa since April 2024, Marcel Ravin is best known for the nearby restaurant Blue Bay Marcel Ravin, which boasts an impressive two Michelin stars. His latest innovation for Elsa is the "Jardin Marin" concept: Devised by the chef himself, it pays homage to the Mediterranean, both on land and at sea. Ravin, who is originally from Martinique, thereby pays homage to maritime culture.

As far as the menu goes, this means that fish and seafood are front and center. Ravin boldly combines delicacies with creativity. The Mediterranean, with its sunny coastlines and excellent produce, is a constant source of inspiration. Elsa has always given preference to local ingredients; and this will not change in the future. On the contrary. The company is even strengthening its collaboration with local producers such as the Domaine d'Agerbol

Sustainable Cuisine

In line with the general values of Monte-Carlo Beach, great care is taken to avoid food waste, with the conservation of marine resources an important concern. For this reason, the Elsa restaurant ratified the Mr. Goodfish charter this year, which promotes the responsible consumption of seafood in terms of sourcing, species and seasonality.

The restaurant Club la Vigie was recently taken over by Pascal Gerrigues. In the near future, guests will enjoy an all-new concept. Garrigues will offer summery variations of Mediterranean cuisine: Grilled dishes, a catch of the day, light lunches and a sophisticated evening menu complete the offerings at Monte-Carlo Beach. Those who dine here can also enjoy music, a wonderful location between the sea and the pine forest and unobstructed views of the starry sky. During the day, the club with its lounge bar and DJ vibes is a meeting place for everyone.

Monte-Carlo Beach Club

The Monte-Carlo Beach Club is considered the "heart and soul" of the resort. Reserved exclusively for members as well as the guests of the Monte-Carlo Beach, the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, it's a favorite of the high society, whether you're relaxing by the Olympic-sized seawater pool, on the private beach, in the beach cabanas or pedal boating. Monaco doesn't get any better than lounging on the deckchairs by the legendary pontoon. In addition, there is a new "Dolce Vita" brunch with live cooking on Sundays.

Even the youngest guests can look forward to new features. The Monte-Carlo Kids Club ensures that kids can also experience unforgettable moments. The leading provider of 5-star children's clubs, Petit VIP, set up the location: The children's club is open daily and is intended to be a multicultural, intergenerational and experience-oriented center. Divided into age groups, kids are offered activities such as cooking, sports tournaments, art workshops, shows, stargazing and much more.
