Hôtel du Cap Eden-Roc may be an icon and can look back on a particularly long history. After all, the property has been a private residence since 1863. It has been a hotel since 1870, and yet the hotel isn't resting on the laurels of the past. On the contrary, the hotel has moved with the times and continues to provide special experiences. The sophisticated hotel, where Hemingway, Picasso and F. Scott Fitzgerald once stayed, has been a member of the prestigious Oetker Collection since 2012. As such, it has undergone a comprehensive renovation in recent years. A Dior Spa was added to the varied offerings of the luxury hotel on the southern tip of Cap d'Antibes. Now it's the chicest tequila bar in France, offering guests an additional holiday experience.

Tequila and champagne

First things first: you don't have to choose between tequila and champagne here. But if you fancy a slightly different kind of sundowner, head to the Tequilaria Bar, the first tequila bar in France within a luxury hotel. It's located on the roof of the Eden Roc pavilion in the middle of the sprawling hotel grounds. Here, you can sit on comfortable lounge furniture with an uninterrupted view of the Mediterranean. And as the sun slowly sets, liquid highlights are created at the cocktail bar.

Head bartender Léo Ray and his team have invested a lot of time in finding the best tequilas in the world. These can be enjoyed in the tequila bar either neat or in both classic and newly conceived cocktail creations. The selection includes, for example, the classic Blanco Tequila from Don Julio and Clase Azul, Joven Tequila from Casa Dragones, Reposados from Fortaleza and Kosmos Rosa, Añejos from Addiccion and 818, Extra Añejos from Clase Azul Ultra and Don Julio 1942. Cristalino Tequilas from Maestro Dobel and Don Julio 70 as well as Mezcal from Casamigos and Clase Azul San Luis Potosi round off the range.

Sundowner with style

You might not necessarily associate the land of champagne and red wine with agave distillate. But that's about to change, according to Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc. As the first luxury tequila bar in France, the hotel is doing everything it can to introduce guests to the spirit. One of the many mixology highlights is the Eden-Roc Mazcalita with Tequila Casamigos Blanco, Mezcal Casamigos, Yellow Chartreuse, agave syrup, lime juice and saffron.

Green Sombrero with Tequila Don Julio Blanco, Espelette pepper liqueur, matcha tea, ginger, honey and lime juice will delight you too. Espresso Martini is also delicious with tequila. The Golden Espresso Martini with a mixture of Tequila Clase Azul Reposado, coffee liqueur with tonka beans, orange oleo saccharum and coffee is already a guest favorite.

Not only hotel guests are welcome at the Tequila Bar, it's also open to external visitors. However, these require a reservation in one of the restaurants at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc.
