Fortunately, there are technical aids that take you to the summit to start your hike! The panoramic trail from the mountain station of the Brandstadl gondola in Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser to the Hartkaiser is certainly one of the most beautiful hiking routes in Tyrol. In good weather, you can see as far as Brixental Valley, Leoganger Steinberge, Hohe Tauern and Zillertal Alps. From June to July, alpine roses bloom on Hartkaiser, and not just a few. You'll encounter entire fields of flowers. At 5.8 kilometers in length, this hike is also suitable for families and takes around two hours with photo stops. You cover around 180 meters in altitude - there are also rustic places to stop for refreshments at Tanzbodenalm", atPanoramarestaurant Bergkaiser" and atBergrestaurant Brandstadl".

What could be more beautiful than hiking with a view of a lake? From Lake Achensee, you walk through several tunnels and over wooden bridges up to Zwölferkopf - up there you could easily think you were in Norway as the deep blue Lake Achensee nestles so picturesquely into the landscape. On clear days with good visibility, you can see the entire Inntal valley. Restaurant Zwölferkopf is a good place to take a break before tackling the descent. The hike is around twelve kilometers long and covers 590 meters in altitude, which is doable in four to five hours. After the hike, you can finish off with a boat trip to give your tired feet a rest and explore the Fjord of the Alps in comfort - Lake Achensee is almost drinking water quality.

Adlerweg is a long-term project to explore Tyrol from its most beautiful side on foot: On 33 stages, you get the best insight into the region. This ultimate hiking route in Tyrol covers 413 kilometers and 31,000 meters of altitude, and runs from east to west. The route resembles the silhouette of an eagle spreading its wings. Alpine experience, surefootedness and a head for heights are a prerequisite - but you'll be richly rewarded. You learn a lot about alpine history and get to know very different huts where you can collect digital stamps. Each stage covers between four and 23 kilometers and there are many refreshing stops, such as at Hintersteiner See.

Highlight: One highlight follows the next - Wilder Kaiser is particularly beautiful, but Flatschjoch at 2,484 meters also rewards you with a magnificent view.
