Bad Ischl: Hotel Goldenes Schiff shines in new splendour
200 years and not a bit old - The largest renovation in the hotel's history was completed this summer!
10 August 2021
This has never happened before in the 200-year-old history of the Hotel Goldenes Schiff in Bad Ischl. In summer, the largest renovation in the hotel's history came to an end. Since the beginning of July, the popular house on the banks of the Traun has finally reopened.
The Golden Ship presents itself in a new look
The "summer visitors", who couldn't wait to discover the charming imperial city, the sparkling Salzkammergut, the mountains and the lakes, can rejoice: Goldene Schiff is a highlight, the entire house presents itself in a new look, fresh and modern. Already at the reception, the new, spacious lobby surrounds the guest with a warm feeling of well-being. The new rooms are a feast for the eyes in soft colours. Just as the design lovers appreciate, the time-out takers love and the urban stylers desire.
In the new breakfast area, with Bakery and City Corner, hotel guests start their day with fragrant coffee and many delicacies. In the Traun SPA, peace and relaxation take over: 200 m2 with a brine and herbal steam bath, a view over the rippling Traun, indoor and outdoor sauna, roof garden, relaxation zones and fitness room it's become a deluxe relaxation zone in the middle of the city. What has been done "behind the scenes" is also impressive: All hotel rooms are equipped with air conditioning. The "new" hotel has an air filtration system and focuses on sustainable living.
Numerous excursion possibilities around the hotel
The Goldene Schiff puts a contemporary living world with every comfort at the feet of the visitors of the traditional Bad Ischl. The view falls in love with the crystal clear Traun River and the mountains sparkle in the distance. From the city hotel it is not far into nature. Therefore, it is always worthwhile to have your hiking boots or bike in your luggage (e-bikes and e-motorbikes can be rented in the hotel). The numerous excursion possibilities are too appealing. Bad Ischl and the Salzkammergut, where once Emperor Franz Joseph and his Sisi spent their imperial summer holiday, is today one of the most beautiful places in Austria and an incomparable holiday region. Since the beginning of July, a decade-long tradition of hospitality continues at the Hotel Goldenes Schiff - in a new, tasteful ambience and more than worthy of the European Capital of Culture 2024.
