23 April 2021
Over the past twelve months, we have had ample time to prepare for upcoming Travel or to determine dream destinations that we definitely want to see at least once in our lives. If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, you might like these six experiences that should definitely have a place on our travel bucket list.
1st llama hike to Machu Picchu
A unique experience is certainly a hike to Machu Picchu, a city founded by the Incas in Peru. To hike in the footsteps of the tribes, you can follow your own Inca Trail trekking routes. These give a glimpse of the incomprehensibly beautiful nature and combine the scenery with mystical atmosphere. To make this moment unforgettable, you can also get an animal companion; because in Peru people like to hike together with llamas.
2. observe lava in Hawaii
The Hawaiian island chain, as the name suggests, consists of numerous larger and smaller islands. The youngest and largest island is Hawaii Island. This is so large that it not only bears the nickname "Big Island", but also almost all climate zones of the world meet there. Volcanoes meet snow-capped mountains, black beaches and lush rainforests. But the main attraction is probably Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is home to two volcanoes. One of them is Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes. The second volcano is called Maunaloa and erupted for the last time in 1984. If you want to watch the eruption from a safe distance, you can do so at the lookout point of the Jaggar Museum, which is located in the national park. But also the coast at the end of the Chain of Craters Road offers an excellent view of the spectacular natural spectacle.
3. whale watching in Canada
If you want to fulfill your dream and see the whales with your own eyes, it is best to travel to Canada. Especially on the west coast there are regions that are hardly populated by people and where you can still find untouched natural landscapes. No wonder that you can also observe wild animals here, which otherwise behave very shy towards humans. A popular activity in Western Canada is whale watching. Boats take the visitors to the water; then one has to wait. With a bit of luck, one gets to enjoy the sea giants and watch an impressive water fountain that is emitted by the animals. Especially humpback whales often appear in the Inside Passage, which is located along Alaska and British Columbia.
4. relaxing on the white sands of the Whitsunday Islands
Probably the most beautiful beach in the world can be found in Australia. There are the Whitsunday Islands, which include 74 islands. It is located on one of them: Whitehaven Beach. And as the name already says, this beach is as white as hardly any other. It almost seems as if the beach is not real. But this paradise really exists. The 6km long beach consists almost entirely of quartz, which is where the exceptionally radiant color comes from. But this natural spectacle is not only suitable for sunbathing and relaxing, also the view from above is spectacular. The best view is offered by the Tongue Point at the Tongue Bay. As the beach is under nature protection, there are no hotel complexes or houses far and wide. So you have the vast Australian landscape right in front of you and can just switch off and enjoy.
5. visit temples in Nepal
The mystical country of Nepal holds some treasures. Such as the countless dreamlike temple complexes, which are mainly located in the capital Kathmandu. Since the majority of the inhabitants are Hindu and Buddhist, the temples are also held in these styles. Probably the most famous temple in the country is called Swayambunath - it sits gracefully on a hill above Kathmandu. The Buddhist temple was built about 2500 years ago and is one of the oldest in the world. Since numerous monkeys live around the complex, it is often referred to as the monkey temple. Pashupatinath is one of the most important Hindu temples. There one worships Shiva, the goddess of life. The main temple is only accessible to Hindus, but the rest of the complex can be visited by anyone.
6. a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia
The place Cappadocia in Turkey offers an experience like in a picture book. Numerous hot air balloons hover over the volcanic landscape and provide an incredible view of the Turkish valleys. Every day there are over 1000 balloons with visitors who are speechless and can't get out of their amazement. The rock and stone formations seen from the heights are unique and have a long history. This is because millions of years ago, tuff ash from volcanoes was pushed into the air, forming new layers of rock in different colours, shapes and degrees of hardness. Most famous is the town of Göreme, which is also home to the so-called "fairy chimneys", or rock formations.
