21 July 2020

Rocco Forte Hotels is strengthening its commitment in Italy with two new projects: The Carlton Milan will enrich the Milan luxury hotel market with an extraordinary hotel from 2023 - 70 rooms and suites, a restaurant and a lounge bar, a comprehensive wellness area including a gym and a panorama bar on the roof are planned. Guests of the Verdura Resort will not have to wait quite as long: the eight villas designed by Olga Polizzi will be available for a late summer holiday as early as September of this year.

Rocco Forte Hotels are known for their exceptional rooms.

Five star hotel for Milan

With The Carlton Milan, Rocco Forte Hotels will also conquer the Italian metropolis of Milan from 2023. The hotel will be located in a completely renovated building directly in the coveted centre of the city and will comprise 70 rooms and suites, a restaurant, two bars and a wellness area including a spa and fitness area. In addition, the ground floor of the building will feature the historic Milanese restaurant "Il Baretto" and a designer boutique with a selection of the best Italian brands. For the design, Olga Polizzi, Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels, will work with interior designers Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen. The hotel is designed to convey the typical Milanese lifestyle, with all the elegance and style that the Italian design capital has to offer. For The Carlton Milan, Rocco Forte Hotels continues its successful collaboration with property owner Reale Mutua, following the openings of Hotel de la Ville and Rocco Forte House in Rome. The eighth hotel in Italy makes the hotel brand the strongest luxury provider in the country.

Founder Sir Rocco Forte wants to bring luxury and quality to Italy.

Italian lifestyle in Sicily

In Sicily, Rocco Forte Hotels is extending summer 2020 with the opening of eight exclusive Private Villas. The villas are part of the Verdura Resort, a luxury hotel of more than 230 hectares with two golf courses, the Verdùland for kids and teens and a tennis academy on the southwest coast of the island. They are spread over two floors and have also been specially designed for multi-generational holidays. As such, the villas include between three and four bedrooms, a light-filled living area, a fully equipped kitchen and a private pool which, along with the spacious courtyard, becomes an extension of the open-air living spaces. Within the house itself, a mobile partition system offers flexible use of the rooms. A sense of privacy is provided by the lush garden that surrounds each villa, creating a natural boundary with the neighbouring buildings. Each villa was individually designed by Olga Polizzi, Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels. They share characteristic design elements of the region such as traditional beams, flat roofs, exterior staircases and floor-to-ceiling windows. The colour scheme, in earth tones, harmonises with the tufa stone, which is typical of the architecture of the area and was also used in the construction of the villas. The decoration also breathes the spirit of Sicily and its art, such as the recurring patterns and fabrics.Guests of the Private Villas of Verdura Resort have a number of special amenities at their disposal: These include private transfer from Palermo or Trapani airport, check-in directly at the villa, three bicycles and two golf buggies to move freely within the property, luggage storage service on arrival and departure, a non-alcoholic minibar and a selection of Sicilian wines and delicacies, and finally, access to the resort's golf courses and Verdura Spa.
