The past year was truly not easy. All the more so in the new year you have Recreation purely deserved. But planning is half the battle, as the saying goes. Therefore, the more you get to grips with the 2021 calendar, the better you can coordinate your days off. Read here how you can make the most of the holidays and generate as many vacation days as possible in one go.

With five weeks of vacation, you can have over 70 days off. Of course, the situation also always depends on the employer and whether 25 or 30 days of vacation is expected.

January - 4 days holiday, 10 days off

Holidays:

• 1.1.2021 (New Year)
• 6.1.2011 (Three Kings)

The new year starts with a long weekend, after New Year's Day this time falls on a Friday. And also in the following week, on Wednesday, 6 January, the next holiday is already waiting. With four days off - from 4 to 5 January and from 7 to 8 January they have ten days off in a row.

April - 4 days holiday, 9 days off

Holidays:

• 4.4.2021 (Easter Sunday)
• 5.4.2021 (Easter Monday)

Easter time in April is perfect for a short holiday. If you take time off from April 6 to April 9, you'll turn four vacation days into nine.

May - 6 days holiday, 14 days off

Holidays:

• 1.5.2021 (national holiday)
• 13.5.2021 (Ascension Day)
• 24.5.2021 (Whit Monday)

There are several opportunities to enjoy a longer holiday in May. With the national holiday falling on a Saturday this time, there is no window day here, but Ascension Day is on a Thursday, as it is every year, so you have several chances to take advantage of this. If you take May 10-12 and then again on May 14 off, you can enjoy nine days off with four vacation days. And Whitsun is also a great opportunity for a longer holiday. As Monday 24 May is a public holiday, if you take two days off on 21 and 25 May, you will have five days off.

June - 4 days holiday, 9 days off

Holidays:

• 3.6.2021 (Corpus Christi)

And June also beckons with an opportunity for nine days off work. You can take time off from 31 May to 2 June and then 4 June.  

October - 4 days holiday, 10 days off

Holidays:

• 26.10.2021 (National holiday)

The golden autumn can be particularly beautiful in Austria. If you want to spend it in another country or simply relax, then you can get a whole ten days off with four days' holiday. All you have to do is put in one day's holiday on 25 October and three more from 27 to 29 October.

November - 4 days holiday, 9 days off

Holidays:

• 1.11.2021 (All Saints' Day)

Unlike last year, All Saints' Day 2021 is a whole lot better! If you take the 2nd to 5th of November off, you can enjoy nine days off.

December - 4 days holiday, 10 days off

Holidays:

• 8.12.2021 (Immaculate Conception)
• 25.12.2021 (Christmas Day)
• 26.12.2021 (St. Stephen's Day) 

Already at the beginning of December you can look forward to several days of holiday at a stretch. This is because the Feast of the Immaculate Conception falls on a Wednesday. If you now take two days off - namely on 9 and 10 December, then five days off await you.

Unfortunately, the 2021 Christmas holidays fall exactly on a weekend, but should you have work-related days off on 24 December without having to take time off, then you can look forward to another five days off in a row with two days off on 27 and 28 December. If you still have a few vacation days left, you can use two more of them on December 29 and 30 and get ten days of vacation in one.
