Located directly on the East River, the popular Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York is now one attraction richer this Advent. All the better as it was a long time coming. "Ice skating beside the Brooklyn Bridge has been part of the plan since before park construction began in 2008, and we're thrilled to see this coming to life, providing long-awaited winter recreation against a beautiful and historic backdrop," said Eric Landau, president of the park.

You can grab a bite in the café and admire the view in the warmth if you need a break; thanks to its location in the middle of trendy DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass), there are also numerous other popular restaurants nearby, such as the River Café, Luke's Lobster and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. The time slots are 50 minutes each and can be booked in advance here. Glide also offers skate rental if you've left yours at home.
