Already 10 years ago, owner Carmen Kohler and her team developed an Ayurveda concept for their guests at the parent hotel Hotel Engel Gourmet & Spa in the Dolomites. What began with Ayurvedic treatments and delicious ayurvedic cuisine quickly became an extensive and unique offer in the Dolomites.

The hotel has its own Ayurveda doctor and authentic Panchakarma cures, which brought a piece of Indian healing tradition to the Dolomites. However, the Ayurveda focus will reach its peak this November. Then a new, independent boutique hotel with a focus on Ayurveda will open in South Tyrol: the Engel Ayurpura Hotel.

Unique in all of Italy

The hotel, surrounded by the impressive mountain scenery of the Dolomites, is unique in its form. But not only in South Tyrol, but in all of Italy. The person who is partly responsible for this is Dr. Vaidya Swami Nath Mishra. He is the only Ayurvedic doctor in Italy and heads the highly qualified team of Ayurvedic therapists at the new Angel Ayurpura. Specialized in Ayur-Yoga breathing techniques and Panchakarma, he guarantees the highest quality in Ayurveda in South Tyrol.

Of course, this is by no means everything. Because Ayurveda and pleasure don't have to exclude each other at all. Thus, the hotel in Welchnofen is a place of rest and relaxation for all guests. The Adults-Only address represents a retreat that allows guests to connect with nature. The straightforward architecture and the sophisticatedly designed interior play their part.

Sauna, salt water & walks

A total of 15 guest rooms, including two suites and a loft suite, are available as a temporary home. The latter even has its own sauna. In addition, there are twelve Ayurvedic treatment rooms, a yoga studio with forest view, a comfortable lounge with open fireplace and a library. Lectures and courses, for example on the subject of mindfulness, and an extensive spa area complete the property.

Wellness seekers can take their lengths in the outdoor saltwater pool, while the view falls on the imposing mountain scenery. The tranquility of the surroundings can be additionally deepened in the harmonic relaxation areas. During walks through the garden or during a sauna session (in the treetops!), everyday life stays far away.

Culinary pampering moments

That Ayurveda in South Tyrol can be a pleasurable affair is proven by Claudio Denti. He is the head chef at the Engel Ayurpura Hotel and extremely well-versed in Ayurvedic cuisine. Specially adapted to the respective needs, each guest receives his individual menu. Of course in coordination with the medical team. Eating is done in privacy or with the other guests at the communal table.
