Traditional cafés and the legendary bars that are located in the ruins are the perfect spots for a post work drink.

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria / Spain

Mild climate year round, island lifestyle despite its proximity to the European mainland, and plenty of things to do after work: Gran Canaria is definitely a great destination for digital nomads in 2023. Spend your time off of work at the beach! Laurel forest is a lovely place to explore as well.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

In several parts of the city, the Internet manages to get to 25 Mbit. That might not sound like much at first but it is absolutely enough for smooth video conferences or to check your social media. The great atmosphere in the city, low cost of rent, the restaurants, and the beaches are all great arguments for a stay in Rio.

Top tip: The "Sky Leme Rooftop & Lounge Bar" offers a great view; plus, a pool and DJs on weekends.

Tulum, Mexico

There is a reason this tropical paradise is a popular destination for Digital Nomads in 2023. The beaches are lined by palmtrees, the water is clear, and the food is excellent. Those who rather spend their time off of work in a more active way, can explore the Mayan ruins or check out the trendy cafés.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Living in Thailand is very affordable, and it is comfortable as well. The country has been a hotspot for digital nomads for several years. Therefore, there is a large international community here, and anything else you could need, from sights to co-working spaces to markets. 

Top tip: Wat Phra Singh Temple is one of the most impressive, sacred buildings in the city.

Cape Town, South Africa

Far away, and yet hardly any time difference: Cape Town is great for all those who depend on European office hours. Apartments in the city center start at €650 per month. Co-working spaces and Airbnbs are available in large quantities as well. The official language is English., and for your time off of work, there are plenty of cafes and beautiful beaches for some quality time.

Top tip: The "Wolfgat" is one of the best restaurants in South Africa. The 7-course tasting menu starts at €70!

Canggu, Bali/Indonesia

Once primarily a vacation destination and now a hotspot for digital nomads: That's Canggu for you. Canggu offers lots of spots for work. Surfers appreciate the waves, and everyone loves the city's beach town vibe. The fact that restaurants and cafes are extremely affordable is fantastic, too.

Top tip: BGS Coffee Bar & Surf Shop is one of the trendiest local spots.
