Time travel at the Kempinski Palace Engelberg

Relax like royalty for once - no other hotel in central Switzerland gives a royal feeling like the Kempinski Palace Engelberg. The location is inspired by the style of the Belle Époque and from the outside - as the name suggests - is reminiscent of a stately palace. It was only in 2016, five years before the hotel opened, that the listed building was extended by a new 5-story building, which today includes the Panorama Spa, among other things. No architectural compromises were made here either.

In the interior, the hotel shines with timeless elegance, which expresses the history of the house combined with modern elements. Natural elements from the region, such as stone and wood, round off the special design without appearing cluttered. New and old, traditional and modern - worlds meet here. Once you have left behind the magnificent wide hallway complete with a noble marble staircase and palace columns, you enter your temporary kingdom through the room door, which makes use of minimalism and where the interplay of muted colors and modern furniture pieces makes you feel like you have traveled back in time.

No matter what time of year, the Kempinski Palace Engelberg is always worth a trip - also thanks to the inviting spa area high above, with views over the area and of the peaks of the surrounding mountains. Cultures collide in Switzerland, so it's no wonder that the hotel's menus are as diverse as the country itself. The "Cattani Restaurant" focuses on regional products and seasonal dishes, which are transformed into incomparable delights by chef Michéle Müller. Guests can take a seat and linger either on the sun terrace or in the cozy, stylish interior, depending on the season. Those who want to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea are very welcome in the "Wintergarden". 

The special atmosphere of the house bar "The Palace Bar" with the neighboring "Habanos Cigar Lounge" invites you to relive the Golden Twenties.
