A logical step, since the Astoria has been under the management of the hotelier family since 1950. From 1950, they steadily expanded the former Pension Britannia into one of the most sophisticated hotels in the region: the Astoria Seefeld five-star superior resort, with the first indoor swimming pool in Tyrol. After numerous renovations, expansions and refinements, the house, managed by hotelier Elisabeth Gürtler since 2015, will become the Sacher Resort from mid-September.
First Sacher Resort
A 20,000-square-meter park, plus the 4,700-square-meter wellness area and 81 spacious rooms and suites: the new Sacher Resort gives travelers reason enough to head to Tyrol. While Vienna and Salzburg have positioned themselves as the only family-run five-star superior city hotels in all of Austria, the property in Seefeld is breaking new ground. Setting the tone for the development of the first resort in the Sacher portfolio was Elisabeth Gürtler, who has known and loved the Astoria since childhood.
"I look forward to welcoming guests to the highest situated Sacher, introducing them to the nature that I am so passionate about and that gives me so much strength, and spoiling them with our unmistakable Sacher excellence."
- Elisabeth Gürtler

The world-famous brand with its three hotels, coffeehouses in Vienna, Salzburg, Graz and Innsbruck and the manufactory under the management of the owner families Gürtler and Winkler is constantly being developed further. The focus is on outstanding quality, an eye for detail and a family atmosphere. According to co-owner Alexandra Winkler, it is precisely these values that were already incorporated into the management of the Astoria in recent years – and that will be further expanded at Sacher Seefeld.
"This place is 100% Sacher."
