In front of the spectacular Großglockner, on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Gradonna****s Mountain Resort towers over the small village of Kals. The four-star superior hotel is real competition to the imposing mountains when it comes to catching the eye and trumps in addition to outstanding cuisine with its modern architecture of wood and glass. For this, the house was distinguished several times, for example with the Tiroler wood building price or the Green Luxury Award. Guests have reason to be pleased, because the Gradonna also impresses from the inside: cubic shapes, large window fronts; lots of wood and stone characterize the interior. The ideal starting point for a vacation in the wildly beautiful region.

Dreaming between the Hohe Tauern

The spacious rooms of the Gradonna express its closeness to nature with a lot of style: pine and spruce invite you to fragrant well-being, soft linen, loden and Kalser marble distinguish the ambience. Great! Who would like to sleep a little more exclusively, stays in the Châlets. With up to 130 square meters the accommodations offer place for eight to ten people - ideal for a trip with the family.

Apart from the clear, delicious mountain air and the soothing pine scent in the rooms of the Gradonna, guests can look forward to another dreamlike addition. Two certified Schlaf-gut© sommeliers accompany guests on their journey into the dream world, from relaxation hikes, meditations and fantasy journeys to a daily nightcap with mountain farm milk and honey. A highlight is undoubtedly the pillow menu - various pillows filled with mountain herbs, mountain hay, wild roses, lavender - and the choice between soft, firm or ergonomic cushion filling.

Regional, excellent, sustainable: The culinary arts at the Gradonna

Dining is à l a carte - with a mountain view, of course - in the Kals am Großglockner gourmet restaurant. In addition, there are best drops, above all from Austria, from the own wine cellar. The ingredients for the dishes in the four-star superior resort chef Michael Karl and his team obtain, if possible, from East Tyrolean producers. Regionality and lastingness are emphasized by the way not only in the kitchen: the hotel is heated with bioheat from its own wood chip plant, the drinking water comes from the hotel's own spring - and the wellness facilities are also vegan and sustainable.

Summit happiness: wellness highlights

A spa that promises the ultimate in relaxation: the Gradonna invites you to its spacious 3,000-square-meter spa area, amidst Kalser marble, lots of wood and fresh mountain spring water. In the indoor and outdoor pools, the natural bathing pond, the sauna area, the relaxation zones as well as the treatment rooms, tired muscles can revive after a day in the mountains. The Gradonna's feel-good experts also rely on the hotel's own MAGDALENA's made in Tyrol cosmetics line for their daily treatments with typical regional remedies.

Mountain views

The mountains around the Gradonna also offer special views. An impressive sight: Before the legs do, the eyes wander over lush green meadows, enormous mountains and sugared peaks. More than 60 three-thousand-meter peaks surround the vacation destination, which lies in the style of an amphitheatre, at the foot of Austria's highest mountain, the Großglockner.
