Vacations in the land of pleasure: 44 spacious rooms with an area of 30 m² each, two suites with 60 m² each and all rooms with the comfort you can expect from a 4-star hotel. As a private retreat at the foot of Riegersburg Castle, the hotel stands for pleasurable journeys of discovery, first-class cuisine and an oasis of well-being for wine lovers. Nestled harmoniously in the traditional Starzenberg vineyard, the building nestles into the hillside over four floors and offers a magnificent view of Riegersburg Castle and the expanses of the Styrian volcanic countryside. A retreat for those seeking peace and quiet and for connoisseurs. Everything can, nothing must - that's how a vacation should be!
Not only for the guests, but also for the chef, the hotel is the ideal place to discover the diversity of southeast Styrian cuisine. Regional cuisine with in-house dry-aged beef, Starzenberger cheese and a brilliant wine selection of over 8,000 positions in the newly remodeled wine cellar characterize the house. For chef Rainer Kaufmann, regionality is therefore not a compulsion for marketing purposes, but a logical consequence in terms of the highest possible enjoyment. For this reason, a year-round seasonal and sustainable cooperation with local farmers and suppliers has the highest priority, in order to benefit from a pleasurable coexistence on all levels. Guests enjoy the rich breakfast buffet or 5-course evening menu in the recently remodeled panoramic restaurant with terrace garden.
In the wellness area, relaxation and enjoyment merge into a restful whole. Because physical well-being is joined by mental and physical balance at the Genusshotel. Take time for regeneration and undisturbed hours: Finnish sauna, aroma steam bath, year-round heated outdoor pool, enjoyment bar with fresh fruit, juices, teas and a cozy lounge panorama reclining terrace. Always included: the view of the Riegersburg and the Styrian volcanic country.
What Falstaff Travel says
The Genusshotel Riegersburg is a special feature from an architectural point of view alone. It is spread over four floors, which are harmoniously embedded in a traditional vineyard. The view always falls over the Styrian volcanic region, and the eponymous Riegersburg Castle is often part of the panorama. Inside, 46 spacious rooms and suites await guests as private retreats. As reluctant as you may be to leave them, it's worth it. A wellness area with saunas, a year-round outdoor pool, massages and yoga facilities are just as appealing as the creative regional cuisine. Five-course masterpieces are created from the best Styrian ingredients. There are also steak evenings every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
